Friction reduction through controlled HYDROPULSE™ hydraulic oscillation

HYDROPULSE™ is engineered for wells where axial friction limits weight transfer and directional control. The tool generates a controlled axial vibration in the drillstring, helping transition static friction to dynamic friction and allowing more consistent energy delivery to the bit.

Hydraulic energy conversion

Drilling fluid flow powers the tool and creates a pressure-pulse response inside the BHA without requiring surface mechanical drive equipment.

Axial oscillation generation

The pressure pulse is translated into controlled axial vibration, reducing the tendency for the drillstring to remain stationary against the wellbore.

Dynamic friction response

Oscillation helps convert static friction into dynamic friction, improving toolface control, slide drilling response and weight transfer in ERD wells.
